Bahamas - Live comfortably on $100 a Day for Food

A $100 a day food and drink budget for two people may sound tough, but it can be done. However, if you plan to budget $100 each day on food, you have to think about eating at the right places.

There are many, many vendors and restaurants in the Bahamas. Though lots of them sell expensive food, by choosing right, you can budget for $100 a day during your Bahamas vacation. Don't expect to be able to eat at the most popular places in the Bahamas on that budget. Also you'll have to try new types of food if you want to save. The good thing is that most of the restaurants sell great tasting food, so living on $100 a day will not be too difficult. But there are things you need to know before you book your flights. Remembering this information will be the deciding factor of your successful trip to the Bahamas.

Spending just $100 a day in the Bahamas is possible, but it will only work with just one guest and limited alcohol. You and a friend will be the only ones able to enjoy the vacation on a $100 a day food budget. If you have a family, you should either consider another place for a vacation, or budget for more than $100 a day.

Limiting your alcohol purchases is a key factor. All of your cash can easily be spent in a few days on alcohol, so beware! The Bahamas is a popular place for beach parties and nightclub parties, but you will have to limit your drinking habits even so. It's OK to buy a drink every now and then; however, you still have to remember that eating a well balance meal is more important. Don't cut down on your breakfast budget; it is the most important meal of the day. Your budget meals will be found at unique places in the Bahamas; and, of course, the best way to get more for your money is by buying seafood.

Nubu is a great seafood restaurant that serves sushi and other popular dishes. The point to remember about sushi is that it's not only cheap to buy, you can also easily share it with a friend. You and your friend/partner can have sushi a few nights during the weekend, if you spot something else on the menu that takes your fancy, go ahead as long as the price is within reason. And though eating at a restaurant is great during the evening, you will have many more choices (at lower prices) during the day. On lots of beaches, there are beach bars that serve snacks to guests at great prices.

If you go to a Bahamas beach snack bar during the day, you'll be surprised at the excellent choice and low prices. Sandwiches are a great low-cost filler. Snack bar sandwiches in The Bahamas are huge, and most people struggle finish one by themselves, so sharing is a great way to fill up at low cost. Also, the choices for sandwiches are great, more than enough to sample a different type of meal each day of the week.

Spending $100 a day for food for two in the Bahamas can be done; you simply have to think ahead and limit your alcohol purchases.

Easy access to The Bahamas is one reason for its long-standing popularity as a winter holiday destination. Only a few miles from the south Florida coast, in fact closer than Caribbean destinations, the islands can be reached quickly either by air or by sea.

The Bahama Islands temperatures rarely drop below 60 degrees F, or rise above 90 degrees F. Most of the rain fall occurs in the summer months. The sea temperature ranges from the low 80's in the summer to about 74 degrees F in the winter
