Bahamas - Barefoot Sailing in Nassau

Sailing barefoot in the Bahamas is an excellent way to spend an day. The crew help everyone relax and enjoy a perfect day out

Sailboating in the Bahamas is one of the most relaxing day excursions you can imagine. Beautiful scenery drifts serenely past as the wind pushes the boat peacefully through the water.

This is an activity that is available from many locations; but the barefoot tour located in Nassau offers you a lot more. Above all, the boat is less crowded than many of the tours, which means you get more attention from the crew when you ask questions. In addition, the crew feeds everyone hot cooked meals, during and after the tour.

When you get to the boat dock in Nassau, you will meet the crew of two, Captain Randy, and his first mate Johnny. Before the boat leaves the dock, you get a chance to talk to them and anyone else who is taking this tour. This tour is not like other boat tours, which gets 30+ people onboard; there are generally fewer tourists on this tour. Depending on the day you sail out, there may be less than four other people taking the trip with you.

Once the tour begins, you will travel across the clear, blue ocean, and if you look closely in the water, you can see fish swimming around. When the boat stops, the captain lets everyone jump into the ocean, so if you plan to snorkel to see the underwater animals better, you need to bring your own gear. Generally, you do not have to snorkel if you do not want to, you can still have a great time just sitting on the deck. If you cannot swim well, but you do not want to be left out, the crew provides lifejackets so you can still have fun with everyone else.

As you are swimming or snorkeling in the ocean, the crew starts preparing lunch for everyone; the food is cooked on the ship, so when it is time to eat, the food will be hot. The lunch meals may vary, but one of the best meals they prepare is BBQ chicken and ribs with baked beans and cold slaw. The lunch cost is included with the overall tour cost, but if you want something to drink, you have to pay extra. The crew only has two beverage options, a beer or a soda, and you might need one to wash down the hardy meal.

After your meal, the crew lets everyone go snorkeling again after waiting a while of course, to avoid craps. While you are waiting, you get to sunbath on the deck, which is a good opportunity to talk to the other tourists on board. The other tourists may know about other fun tours and places in the Bahamas, so remember to ask them what their favorites are. Once a reasonable amount of time has passed, you are allowed another chance to swim. The second swim will not be as long, and afterwards, the crew serves more food on the trip back to Nassau. This fantastic tour is well worth its $89 cost, so if you like boat rides, you should consider taking this tour.

If you enjoy the ocean, snorkeling, and a great meal, you will have a great time on a barefoot sailing tour in Nassau, because it is a lot of fun, and worth the cost.

Easy access to the Bahamas is one reason for its long-standing popularity as a winter holiday destination. Only a few miles from the south Florida coast, in fact closer than Caribbean destinations, the islands can be reached quickly either by air or by sea.

The Bahama Islands temperatures rarely drop below 60 degrees F, or rise above 90 degrees F. Most of the rain fall occurs in the summer months. The sea temperature ranges from the low 80's in the summer to about 74 degrees F in the winter
