Bahamas - Choosing a Seafood RestaurantChoosing a place to have a seafood dinner can be tough in the Bahamas. Many tourists like eating at the Great Hall and Fathoms, but one is better than the other.Tourists and locals love to eat seafood in the Bahamas, but choosing a great restaurant is sometimes difficult. A good restaurant has to have fresh, delicious food and a nice atmosphere so tourists can enjoy their meal. Many restaurants in the Bahamas have good food and scenery, but most people have a tough time choosing between two specific places. The two most talked about seafood restaurants in the Bahamas are the Great Hall's seafood area and Fathoms restaurants. Both of these restaurants serve great food, so your choice will be determined based on each restaurant's menu, service, and atmosphere. The Great Hall's menu is filled with many types of foods in addition to seafood; this restaurant is a nice choice if someone in your party wants something other than seafood. Although the menu will look good, you will have to wait a while before your order is placed due to the slow service. Waiting for service at the Great Hall can get frustrating, and the atmosphere does not help either. During the summer, tourists bring their kids to the Great Hall, and the kids do not behave properly. Sometimes, the kids like to run around the area in front of the large fish tanks. If you want to watch the fish from your table while you eat, you will not be able to do so. Tourists love to stand in front of the fish tanks with their kids; you will be finished with your meal before they even take their seat. Noise is another issue; you will hear many tourists telling their kids to behave all the time. Overall, the Great Hall' seafood area is not a bad place to visit; however, it is not great either. If you can deal with the slow service and noisy tourists, you might enjoy yourself at this restaurant. |

Fathoms, however, is the complete
opposite of the Great Hall; all the issues the Great Hall has are nowhere to be
found at Fathoms. If you love seafood, you will be happy to know that Fathoms
menu is mostly only seafood items. When you are making your plans, make sure
everyone likes seafood because there are only a few other dishes on the menu.
Once you get to the restaurant, you will notice that the scenery is beautiful
and elegant. The best part about Fathoms is that you can request a sit neat the
fish tank; you can watch the fish closely while you eat. This seating area may
not be for everyone; some people may not want to watch live animals while they
are eating. Kids, however, will love the fish tank seats; the fish will keep
their attention during and after their meal. With all these great features, you
should definitely choose Fathoms if you want a nice seafood dinner in
the Bahamas.
The Great Hall and Fathoms are both nice seafood restaurants; however, Fathoms is the better choice. The Great Hall is just too noisy, but Fathoms food, atmosphere, and service make it an excellent place for a meal in the Bahamas. Easy access to The Bahamas is one reason for its long-standing popularity as a winter holiday destination. Only a few miles from the south Florida coast, in fact closer than Caribbean destinations, the islands can be reached quickly either by air or by sea. The Bahama Islands temperatures rarely drop below 60 degrees F, or rise above 90 degrees F. Most of the rain fall occurs in the summer months. The sea temperature ranges from the low 80's in the summer to about 74 degrees F in the winter Find the best vacation deal, compare prices and read what other travelers have to say at Bahamas Vacation Anguilla Aruba Barbados Bermuda Bonaire Cuba Curacao Dominica Dominican Republic Grenada Guadeloupe Haiti Jamaica Martinique Montserrat Puerto Rico Saba St. Barthelemy St. Eustatius St. Lucia St. Maarten/St. Martin |
