Bahamas - Staying Safe

Remaining safe in the Bahamas is fairly easy; your safely is determined by your own behavior. If you use your head, you will not have any problems during your stay in the Bahamas

The Bahamas is a place known for parties and family vacations, and it is generally a safe destination to visit. Not all of the islands, however, are the same; some places should not be visited late at night. It is wise to think smart during visits to the Bahamas because not everyone there is extremely nice. Your safely depends on where you go, the time you go, and who is with you. Staying safe in the Bahamas during a vacation is not tough to do; however, some tourists generally ignore every action that it takes to do so. Visiting the beach after midnight is something that a few tourists love to do, but you should definitely avoid doing this.

A tourist in the Bahamas stands out like a sore thumb, which is not a good thing in some cases. If you are seen walking on the beach after hours, someone will definitely notice you. After midnight, almost every tourist in the Bahamas will be at either their hotel, condominium, or a nightclub. If you plan to visit a beach at night, go early when everyone else is still walking the streets. It is also a good idea to have a friend with you to keep you company; two people walking on the beach is much safer than only one. Walking on the beach makes a romantic date, but you should always plan your dates at reasonable times just to be safe. Late night roaming is risky in the Bahamas; however, there are also risks that occur early in the night as well.

Partying and drinking are common in the Bahamas, but you should never drink when you are vacationing by yourself. If you drink alcoholic beverages on a beach alone, you will tipsy and vulnerable during you walk home. A number of things can happen while you walk home, so you should always have a friend with you if you plan to drink. Even if you do not drink alcoholic beverages during your vacation, you still have to watch out for private taxis after a party. Private taxis are not like regular taxi, the drivers do not behave like regular drivers. Some tourists do not fully trust these drivers for some reason, so you should think before you use this type of taxi too. If you ever need a ride at night, you should find a regular cab or just walk. You should definitely go partying if you like partying, but always pick friendly places to do so. In the Bahamas, there is one extremely friendly area worth visiting and a bad part of town as well.

There is no doubt that Nassau is an excellent place for families, single people, and couples. Tourists visit Nassau every year because it is a safe place to stay during a vacation. Nassau is cool area for everyone, but there are also bad places in the Bahamas as well. One particular place that you should avoid is an area called Over the Hill. People are not friendly in this part of town, and they will quickly know that you are a tourist. If you stay in the friendly parts of the Bahamas, you will have no problems during your vacation.

The Bahamas is generally a safe place; however, your overall safely depends on your behavior and the places you go. You should never visit the beach late a night, drink alone, use shady private cabs, or visit Over the Hill. If you can do these things during your vacation, you will have a safe and enjoyable stay in the Bahamas.

Easy access to The Bahamas is one reason for its long-standing popularity as a winter holiday destination. Only a few miles from the south Florida coast, in fact closer than Caribbean destinations, the islands can be reached quickly either by air or by sea.

The Bahama Islands temperatures rarely drop below 60 degrees F, or rise above 90 degrees F. Most of the rain fall occurs in the summer months. The sea temperature ranges from the low 80's in the summer to about 74 degrees F in the winter
